1.       The Consortium is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data the Consortium collects from you, or that you provide to the Consortium, will be processed by the Consortium. Please read the following carefully to understand the Consortium’s views and practices regarding your personal data and how it will treat it.

3.       Information the Consortium May Collect From You
1.       The Consortium may collect and process the following data about you:
1.       information that you provide by filling in forms on the Website. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use the Website, subscribing to Consortium services, posting material or requesting further services. The Consortium may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Website;
2.       if you contact the Consortium, it may keep a record of that correspondence;
3.       the Consortium may also ask you to complete surveys that it uses for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them; and
4.       details of your visits to the Website including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access;
4.       IP Addresses and Cookies
1.       The Consortium may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.
2.       For the same reason, the Consortium may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file to track your movements around the Website in a single session however the cookies are not stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies help the Consortium to improve the Website and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable the Consortium:
1.       to estimate its audience size and usage pattern;
2.       to store information about your preferences, and so allow the Consortium to customise the Website according to your individual interests; and
3.       to speed up your searches.

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet Consortium costs in providing you with details of the information it holds about you.
